Junior Golf Coaching Systems

Lou is a former Top 50 U.S. Kids Golf Certified coach with over 10 years of experience in the U.S. Kids Golf organization. He is also a certified Discover Golf coach, which is a golf coaching system that aims to help Junior golfers focus early sporting experiences around free play.

This form of coaching in free play slowly moves Junior golfers to more structured forms of deliberate golf practice. This system is backed by universally accepted research that supports video game style coaching facilitated by interactive leaderboards.

Altogether this coaching system is an extremely fun experience for Junior golfers and very effective in developing the correct skillsets for golf success.

Increasing Speed | Coordination | Athleticism

As Junior golfers mature, the introduction of  coordination and fitness development helps Junior golfers reach their physical  potential for optimal golf performance.

Many people don’t think golf is a sport, never mind that golfers need performance training or sports science.

On the surface, it is hard to argue with them. In the world of golf, we don’t even use the terms “sport science” or “performance training.” For some reason, we decided to call it “golf fitness” instead.

Because Lou values the introduction of speed, coordination and strength training for Junior golfers, he offers a variety of specialized training aids to achieve these outcomes.

Group Coaching for Junior Golfers

Research tells us that learning with peers of similar ability can increase motivation and skill acquisition.

Although with Junior golfers, we know that they generally will focus best on one or two corrections at a time. In private lesson, it is easy to deviate from focusing on one or two corrections at a time. However, in group lessons the dynamics of instruction and interaction are different, thus better for the Junior golfer.

For example, by watching a peer successfully play a chip shot, the confidence and performance of the Junior golfer is shown to increase. This learning dynamic is especially true for beginner Junior golfers. This is because the skill of a coach is often non-relatable to the Junior golfer, but the skill of a peer is very relatable.

Best of all for Junior golfers is that they meet new friends and future playing partners.
